Maval taluka stretches from the Lonavla ghats down towards Talegaon and the edge of Pimpri-Chinchwad. For assisted living, that length is the key fact. At the hill end, near Lonavla, care comes in green, quiet surroundings, but the nearest large hospitals are an hour or more away. At the Pune end, around Vadgaon Maval and Talegaon, the setting is flatter and busier, and specialist hospitals are much closer. Choosing assisted living in Maval is largely a choice of where on that line your parent's health allows them to live.

Kutumb by Naiknavare at Vadgaon Maval, about 25 km towards Pune, works very differently. It is a residential community by Naiknavare Developers where three generations can live together, with services for elders added on. The listing names nursing care, trained caregivers, physiotherapy, daily health monitoring, help with personal hygiene, an ambulance on site, wheelchair access, housekeeping, vegetarian meals and concierge help with banking, taxes and travel. Families buy a home rather than pay a care fee: either a villa of about 2,290 sq ft or one of the Kutumb by Naiknavare apartments of about 880 sq ft. It is filed here under assisted living, but it is best thought of as family housing with care on hand. It suits a family moving together, where a grandparent can draw on nursing and physiotherapy without leaving home.
Hospitals and access by part of the taluka
- Near Lonavla. Sanjeevani Medical Foundation, a 50-bed NABH-accredited multispecialty hospital, is the main local hospital. For anything complex, residents travel down the ghat.
- Talegaon and Vadgaon Maval. Pawana Hospital near Talegaon is the nearest larger hospital for the lower taluka, and the hospitals of Pimpri-Chinchwad, including Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital in Thergaon, are within reach.
- Roads and rail. The old Mumbai-Pune highway links every town in Maval, and suburban trains run from Lonavla through Kamshet, Vadgaon and Talegaon to Pune. The expressway is faster for Mumbai.
- The rains. The Lonavla end receives some of the heaviest monsoon rain in Maharashtra. For a frail resident, ask how the home copes with power cuts, damp and road closures.
Approximate cost of assisted living in Maval
These figures are approximate and are meant for planning. For monthly care, assisted living in Maval at private homes costs about ₹25,000 to ₹45,000 a month, while trust-run homes such as Awaas often charge less and set their own terms. Dementia, bedridden or palliative care costs about ₹40,000 to ₹80,000 a month and is usually better arranged near Pune.
