Goldage began in 1979 as a five-bed physiotherapy clinic in Chikkadpally, Hyderabad, moved to Dilsukhnagar in 1990, and has grown into a network of retirement homes in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
Mount Shanti stands out for the range of accommodation on one campus: dormitories, shared rooms, single rooms, deluxe rooms, cottages and duplex villas. That range means a parent can choose by budget and by how much privacy they want.

Before deciding, ask which hospital the campus uses for emergencies and how long the ambulance takes to reach it, since that is the main trade-off of living this far out.
What daily life in Deshmukhi is like
- Peace and open space. Village surroundings mean clean air, birdsong and room to walk, with the temple next door for daily darshan.
- Medical care on campus. Daily physician visits and 24-hour nursing reduce the need to travel, though major hospitals are in Hyderabad, roughly an hour away depending on traffic.
- Getting there. Families usually drive out from LB Nagar, Hayathnagar or Uppal. Ask the home about pick-up arrangements for visitors and for hospital trips.
- A slower pace. Shops, banks and pharmacies are limited nearby, so the campus handles most daily needs itself.
