Golewadi is a small village in Haveli taluka at the foot of Sinhagad fort, where the road from Pune climbs towards the fort's ghat. Drive out along Sinhgad Road, past Nanded City and the Khadakwasla reservoir, through Donje, and you reach Golewadi Chowk at the base of the hill, known locally as Sinhagad Paytha. Weekend visitors stream past on their way up the fort, but the rest of the week it is farmland, bungalows and the sound of birds.

- Hospitals are a drive away. The nearest large hospitals are back towards the city along Sinhgad Road and the bypass, such as Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College and General Hospital at Narhe. Ask the centre exactly how it handles an emergency at night, which hospital it uses and how long the transfer takes.
- Visiting takes planning. From central Pune the drive can take an hour or more on weekends, when fort traffic builds up. Weekday visits are usually quicker.
- Basic shopping only. Village shops and the markets of Khadakwasla and Sinhgad Road cover the essentials; anything more means a trip into the city.
