Kozhukkully is a village in Nadathara panchayat, a few kilometres east of Thrissur town, just off the NH 544 that runs towards Palakkad. It sits between the busy outskirts of the cultural capital and the greener country beyond: houses among coconut and areca, parish churches and temples, and roads leading towards Moorkanikkara and the hills of Peechi. Thrissur's Swaraj Round, its hospitals and the Vadakkunnathan temple are only a short drive away.
That makes senior living in Kozhukkully a good balance for Thrissur families. A parent can live somewhere quieter and greener than the town, while staying close to Thrissur's well-known hospitals and to the churches and temples the family has always attended. Elkin lists a verified home here run by a congregation of sisters.
Heavenly Mansions
Heavenly Mansions is run by the Congregation of the Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa (CSST), a religious congregation with a long history of service in Kerala. It is listed as independent living, but the care goes further: memory care support for residents with dementia, palliative care for serious illness, physiotherapy, daily health monitoring and medical care, along with trained caregivers who help with personal hygiene and an emergency response system.
Meals are planned under nutritional management, and the building is wheelchair accessible. Rooms are furnished, and the home has a garden, a swimming pool, Wi-Fi and power backup. Heavenly Mansions suits a parent who is independent today but may need more help later, since its memory and palliative care mean a resident does not have to move if their health changes. As with most congregation-run homes, ask about admission criteria and any waiting list.
On a visit, ask the sisters how a resident's care changes as needs grow, for example when someone moves from independent living to needing help with dementia or palliative care, and how the family is involved in those decisions. Ask about the daily prayer routine and visiting hours too, since both shape life in a congregation-run home.
