Kurumbapalayam is a small, still semi-rural pocket on Ajjanur Road, off Vedapatti Road in west Coimbatore. Several villages in the district share this name, so it helps to be precise: this one sits between Vedapatti and Vadavalli, inside the city's western retirement belt, with the Ghats on the horizon and new residential layouts growing among the fields. Senior living in Kurumbapalayam suits families who want a newer home on a bigger plot than central Coimbatore can offer.
Elkin lists two verified senior living homes in Kurumbapalayam. Both belong to the third phase of Gujan's Paripalana, one listed as villas and one as apartments.
Gujan's Paripalana Phase III: villas and flats
Sri Gujan Builders started their senior living work with Phase I in Vadavalli and Phase II on Vedapatti Road. Phase III, at Arun Nagar on Ajjanur Road, is the largest step so far, offering two kinds of home.
Gujan's Paripalana Phase III villas are three-bedroom homes of about 1,500 sq ft. They suit couples who want space for visiting children and grandchildren, a home office or a puja room.
Gujan's Paripalana Phase III apartments are two-bedroom flats of about 690 sq ft, easier to keep and lock up when a resident travels.
Both share the same support. The community lists trained caregivers, help with personal hygiene, daily health monitoring, an ambulance for emergencies, physiotherapy, recovery care after a hospital stay, memory care support and palliative care, with pure vegetarian meals, wheelchair access, a garden, Wi-Fi and power backup. That makes Phase III closer to a continuing care community than a plain housing project, since a resident can draw on more help as the years pass. Ask which services sit inside the maintenance charge and which are billed when used.
Because the project is newer, check the Tamil Nadu RERA registration, the handover status of each block and whether common areas are complete before you commit. See independent living homes in Coimbatore →
Living in Kurumbapalayam
- Hospitals. There is no large hospital in Kurumbapalayam itself. Clinics and pharmacies are in Vadavalli and Vedapatti, and the major private hospitals towards RS Puram are usually around half an hour away. The community's own ambulance is an important reassurance here.
- Connectivity. Ajjanur Road links to Vedapatti Road and on to Maruthamalai Road, the main route into the city.
- Pace of life. Expect birdsong, open land and very little traffic. Daily shopping means a short trip to Vadavalli.
- Temples. Marudamalai and Perur are both a short drive away.
- Who it suits. Couples who are still active, enjoy a garden and want a home with room for visiting family, but who also want caregivers and an ambulance within the community as they grow older.
Approximate costs in Kurumbapalayam
Kurumbapalayam is a newer, west-side location, so prices follow the west Coimbatore band. As a rough guide, two-bedroom senior living apartments here cost about ₹40 lakh to ₹55 lakh, and three-bedroom villas about ₹90 lakh to ₹1.3 crore, plus monthly maintenance of about ₹5,000 to ₹15,000 and meals. If a resident needs a full-time caregiver, add that cost on top. These are estimates, so confirm current prices with Sri Gujan Builders.
