Behind the shops and showrooms on the main road lie quiet residential colonies such as Deepthi Sree Nagar and PJR Colony, full of independent houses and mid-sized apartment blocks. Families choose senior living in Madinaguda because it is part of a lived-in, middle-class neighbourhood: a parent can still walk to the temple, the vegetable vendor and the bank, and children working in Gachibowli or Hitec City are only a short drive away.

Goldage Retirement Homes, Madinaguda
Goldage Retirement Homes is run by the Goldage Retirement Homes Trust, a group that began in Chikkadpally in 1979 and now runs homes across Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. The Madinaguda branch, which Goldage refers to as its Miyapur home, is on Road No. 13 at the Deepthi Sree Nagar end of Madinaguda, and the group describes it as a 150-bed facility.
Elkin lists it as independent living, but the care it can provide goes further. The listing covers help with personal hygiene, daily health monitoring, nutrition planning, physiotherapy, memory care support, palliative care and recovery after a hospital stay, with trained caregivers and wheelchair access. Goldage also runs geriatric hospital and rehabilitation services, which means a resident who falls ill does not always have to move out.
Rooms are compact and furnished, with Wi-Fi, power backup and a garden. This is a good fit for a parent who wants an affordable, structured retirement home with care available as they age, rather than a luxury community.
On a visit, three things are worth checking. First, whether your parent would share a room or have one alone, since that changes both comfort and cost. Second, what the daily routine looks like, from morning prayers and meals to evening television, and whether residents can step out to the market on their own. Third, how the home handles a medical emergency at night, and which hospital the ambulance goes to. Goldage's long track record means the staff have usually answered these questions many times, so ask for specifics rather than general assurances.
Living in Madinaguda as a senior
- Metro and rail. Miyapur metro station, the end of the Red Line, is close by, and Hafeezpet railway station on the MMTS network is a short ride away.
- Hospitals. Multi-speciality hospitals on the Chandanagar and Miyapur stretch, Citizens Specialty Hospital at Nallagandla and KIMS in Kondapur are all within easy driving distance.
- Close to the IT hubs. Gachibowli, Kondapur and Hitec City are 20 to 30 minutes away, which suits families who work there.
- Everyday shopping. Supermarkets, pharmacies and clinics line the highway, and the colonies behind it are calm enough for an evening walk.
