Saket is a gated residential township at Kapra, on the north-eastern side of Hyderabad between ECIL, AS Rao Nagar and Sainikpuri. Saket Pranaam, Kapra
Saket Pranaam is built by Saket Engineers Pvt Ltd, part of the Saket Group, which describes it as Hyderabad's first active retirement home project. It is a gated community of 333 one, two and three bedroom apartments on about 4.5 acres, designed for seniors who want to own their home and keep their independence, with the safety and company of a community around them.
The listing describes furnished homes with emergency panic buzzers, an ambulance service, daily health monitoring, nursing care and trained caregivers on call, and wheelchair-friendly design throughout. Residents share a swimming pool and landscaped gardens, and the community is pet friendly, so a parent need not give up a dog or cat. Saket's senior projects also advertise centralised dining, regular health check-ups and social activities, so ask which of these run today and what they cost.
Because homes are bought and sold, many families come to Saket through resale apartments or rentals from existing owners. If you are looking at a resale flat, ask the residents' association about maintenance charges, what services the fee covers, and whether there are rules on who can buy or rent. Saket Group has also launched a newer senior project, Saket Pranamam, at Gowdavalli on the northern side of the city.
Saket Pranaam is best for active, independent seniors and couples. If your parent needs help with bathing, dressing or medicines every day, the community's nursing support may not be enough on its own, and an assisted living home may suit better.
Daily life around Kapra and ECIL
- Hospitals. Clinics and hospitals around ECIL and AS Rao Nagar handle everyday needs, and the larger Secunderabad hospitals, including Yashoda and KIMS, are about 30 to 40 minutes by road.
- Getting around. ECIL X Roads is the local hub for buses, and the Malkajgiri and Moula Ali stations on the MMTS suburban rail are within reach.
- Green and quiet. Kapra Lake and the open spaces around Sainikpuri make for easy morning walks, and the area is markedly less congested than central Hyderabad.
- Good for the eastern suburbs. Families living in Secunderabad, Uppal, Malkajgiri or Kompally can visit in under an hour.

Expect a monthly maintenance and services fee on top, with meals and nursing usually charged separately.
