Nelamangala is a town about 30 km north-west of central Bengaluru, where the highway to Tumakuru (NH 48) meets the road to Hassan and Mangaluru (NH 75). It is its own taluk in Bengaluru Rural district rather than a city neighbourhood, and it still has the feel of a small market town, with farmland, hills such as Shivagange in the distance, and a growing ring of townships and warehouses along the highways.
That combination, quieter than the city but connected by two national highways, has drawn senior living here. Elkin lists one community in Nelamangala, Manasum Riva, inside the Tata New Haven township. Families sometimes search for it as Tata Riva senior living.
Manasum Riva, Tata New Haven
Manasum Riva is a senior living community inside the 25-acre Tata New Haven township, managed by Manasum Senior Living. It opened in 2017, so it is an established community rather than a new launch, and it offers independent and assisted living in age-friendly buildings.
What Riva offers:
- Homes. Furnished 2 BHK apartments of about 800 sq ft, designed for seniors, with Wi-Fi and power backup.
- Healthcare. A fully functional healthcare centre, daily health monitoring, a 24-hour ambulance, physiotherapy, help after a hospital stay and palliative care.
- Care that grows with needs. Help with personal hygiene, trained caregivers and memory care support for residents whose needs change, so a move to assisted living can happen within the same community.
- Food. Geriatric-focused meals planned around older residents' health.
- Community. Large green spaces, a pool, gardens, social clubs and activities, and pets are welcome.
Because Riva sits inside a wider township, residents share the neighbourhood with families of all ages, which many prefer. Manasum's other Bengaluru community is Avighna in Soppahalli, on the southern edge of the city. For other communities, see independent living in Bengaluru.
An established community has one clear advantage over a new launch: you can see it working. Visit on a weekday, join a club session and ask residents how they spend their week before you commit.
