Kiwale is the far north-western edge of Pimpri-Chinchwad, just beyond Ravet, where new housing societies give way to open land near the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and the Dehu Road cantonment. Until recently it was a village. Today it is a growing suburb with wider plots, less crowding than Wakad or Pimple Saudagar, and quick road access in three directions: towards Pune city, towards Talegaon and Lonavla, and up the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway.
That space is why two care homes have opened here. Senior living in Kiwale means purpose-run care in a quieter setting, at PCMC prices, while children in Ravet, Akurdi, Nigdi or Hinjawadi stay within about half an hour. It suits families whose parent needs real support every day, such as after a stroke or with advancing dementia, rather than an apartment to buy.
Elkin lists verified senior living homes in Kiwale, and our advisors can take you around both, explain the care plans and compare them with homes nearer the city.
Two care homes in Kiwale
Avana Senior Care describes itself as an assisted living facility in Kiwale, on the Ravet side, built for seniors with limited mobility, dementia, Parkinson's disease, stroke and other long-term conditions. It runs both long stays and short ones, and offers a trial stay of up to 90 days, which helps a parent who is unsure about moving. The home has 46 units, a physiotherapy room and doctor and nursing cover round the clock. From its listing, residents also get daily health monitoring, help with personal hygiene, memory care support, post-hospitalisation recovery, wheelchair access and diets that can be Jain or low in salt. It is pet friendly and even includes pet therapy, which is unusual among old age homes in Pune.
Palash Care (Kiwale) is the second branch of Palash Elderly Care and Recovery Centre, run by HS Medicare Private Limited, a Pune company founded by doctors who spent years caring for patients in intensive care units. The Kiwale branch is in Vikas Nagar. Palash takes elderly residents for long-term care and also people of any age who need nursing after a hospital stay. Its listed services include geriatric care, physiotherapy, palliative care and terminal care, with trained caregivers, daily health checks, emergency response and emotional support. Rooms are furnished, and the home has a garden, Wi-Fi and power backup.
The two homes overlap, so visit both. Avana leans towards long-stay assisted living with a structured routine, while Palash is often chosen for recovery stays and end-of-life care.
Why families look at Kiwale
- Room to breathe. Kiwale is less dense than inner PCMC, with more open land and less traffic noise once you leave the main road.
- Road links. The Ravet to Kiwale road connects to the Aundh-Ravet BRTS corridor, and the expressway and the old Mumbai-Pune highway are close, so family from Mumbai can reach the home without crossing Pune.
- Rail nearby. Dehu Road and Akurdi stations on the Pune-Lonavla suburban line are a short drive from Vikas Nagar, and Chinchwad station is about 9 km away.
- Hospitals. Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital in Thergaon and DY Patil Hospital in Pimpri are the main large hospitals, roughly 20 to 30 minutes away depending on traffic. Ask each home which hospital it uses for emergencies and how long the ambulance takes at night.
