Varale is a village on the edge of Talegaon Dabhade in Maval taluka, about 35 km north-west of Pune. It sits in the Indrayani valley, with low green hills on the skyline and the river close by. Talegaon itself is a growing town at around 670 metres, with a station that serves as a terminus for Pune suburban trains, and the Mumbai-Pune Expressway passes nearby. Over the past few years, open land around Varale has drawn new housing for people who want more space than Pimpri-Chinchwad can offer.

Senior living in Varale is a choice for the active retiree. It means a flat in a planned community with clubhouse life and medical support on the campus, in a cooler, greener setting than the city, while staying within an hour or so of family in Pune and about two and a half hours of Mumbai. It is less suited to a parent who already needs daily nursing; for that, a care home nearer the big hospitals is the better start.

Elkin lists verified senior living homes in Varale, and our advisors can explain the project, its timeline and how it compares with other Maval communities.

Ashiana Amodh, a senior living community by Ashiana Housing

Ashiana Amodh is the seventh senior living project of Ashiana Housing Ltd, a developer known for retirement communities in several Indian cities. It is designed for seniors, typically those aged 55 and above, who want to live independently among people of their own age. The project covers about 11.93 acres at Varale near Talegaon, with about 3.4 acres set aside for landscaped green space, and has 593 one, two and three bedroom apartments in six towers.

Status: Ashiana Amodh is under construction. The developer's own site gives possession in phases, with the first phase due in March 2027 and later phases after that, so this is a home to plan for rather than to move into this year.

Here is what the project and its listing set out:

  • Health and safety. Round-the-clock emergency care, an in-house ambulance, doctors on call and nursing assistance, with an emergency response system in each apartment.
  • An assisted living centre on campus. Residents who later need help with bathing, dressing or recovery can get it without leaving the community. The listing also mentions physiotherapy, memory care support and palliative care.
  • Community life. A clubhouse of about 19,000 sq ft with dining, a gym and a swimming pool, plus a yoga lawn, swing plaza and acupressure pathway.
  • Everyday ease. A concierge in each block, plumbers and electricians on call, lifts with automatic rescue devices, gated security and wheelchair-friendly design. The community is pet friendly.

Ashiana Amodh suits couples in their late fifties or sixties planning their next home, and children buying ahead for parents. Ask about the RERA registration for each phase, the payment schedule and what the monthly maintenance and dining fees will cover.

Living near Talegaon: hospitals, transport and climate

  • Hospitals. Pawana Hospital at Somatane Phata, a 203-bed NABH-accredited hospital, and BADE Accident and Multispecialty Hospital, about 8 km away, are the main hospitals in the Talegaon area. Larger city hospitals in Pimpri-Chinchwad are about an hour's drive.
  • Rail and road. Talegaon station has regular suburban trains to Pune, and the expressway and the old highway give road access to Pune and Mumbai.
  • Climate. Varale is cooler than Pune city for much of the year, with very heavy rain from June to September.
  • Daily needs. Talegaon Dabhade has markets, banks, pharmacies and schools, though residents rely on the community's own dining and services for most daily needs.

What senior homes near Talegaon cost

Buying into a community is the main route here, and prices vary widely with size and phase. As a rough guide only:

  • Compact flats in senior living communities on Pune's edges, including the Talegaon belt: about ₹30 lakh to ₹60 lakh in established projects, with larger new-build apartments going well above ₹1 crore.
  • Running costs: monthly maintenance, dining and any care services used.
  • Monthly-fee assisted living in Pune's outer areas: about ₹25,000 to ₹45,000 a month, if you would rather not buy.

Confirm the current price list, which in new projects is often all-inclusive, directly with the developer. Our guide to senior living versus assisted living explains how the two models differ.
